Bruce served as a Managing Director of JPMorgan where his experience included over 30 years as a banker and lawyer managing litigation and complex transactions for large institutions and high net worth individuals. He joined Eggleston & Briscoe in 2009 where his practice has centered on banking, fiduciary, real estate, energy and investment transactions. He has also successfully served as an expert witness in complex litigation involving real estate, oil and gas, banking, and fiduciary issues.
He began his career with Texas Commerce Bank where he managed fiduciary relationships for high net worth individuals and managed the Real Estate and Oil and Gas Group. Later, he assumed the role of Chief Administrative Officer for the Trust Department where he was responsible for fiduciary policy and oversight of the acquisition and integration of multiple bank and trust company mergers into Texas Commerce and Chase Bank. He also managed the client and corporate fiduciary litigation docket for these institutions in Texas. Following the Chase merger with JPMorgan, Bruce served as the Private Bank’s Chief Operating Officer for the central and southeastern United States. In addition to these roles, Bruce served as President of Matagorda Oil Company, a closely held corporation, and Trinity Petroleum, a publicly traded energy company.
Bruce is a native Houstonian with deep roots in the community. He is married to his wife Pat and is the proud father of 4 boys. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 1976, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law in 1980.
Bruce is licensed to practice in Texas trial courts. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Bar Association.
